NADDC Empowers 300 Technicians with Heavy-Duty Vehicle Repair Skills

The National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), in partnership with Skyrock Consulting Limited, has trained 300 technicians in automotive mechatronics and heavy-duty vehicle repair during a two-week program in Yola.

NADDC Director-General, Oluwemimo Osanipin, praised the collaboration with Skyrock Consulting and the Adamawa State Government for their support. He highlighted NADDC’s commitment to bridging the skills gap in Nigeria’s automotive industry, noting that the council has trained over 20,000 technicians and established 21 Automotive Training Centres nationwide, equipped with modern tools for continuous skill development.

“A skilled workforce is crucial for reducing vehicle breakdowns and accidents linked to poor maintenance,” Osanipin said, encouraging trainees to apply their new skills to drive growth in Nigeria’s automotive sector.

Skyrock Consulting CEO, Olayinka Akintola, expressed gratitude for the cooperation from NADDC and Adamawa Transport General Manager, Comrade Muhammad Abbo Tukur, for providing vehicles, including CNG models, for practical sessions.

This initiative is a significant step in building a skilled workforce, fostering job creation, and accelerating growth in Nigeria’s automotive industry.
