Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated President Bola Tinubu on his 73rd birthday, lauding his contributions to politics, governance, and economic development in both Lagos State and Nigeria.
In a congratulatory message issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, Sanwo-Olu described President Tinubu as a visionary leader, a tested and trusted politician, and a democrat whose contributions to Nigeria’s democracy are worthy of academic research.
“On behalf of my wife, Ibijoke, my family, the government and people of Lagos State, as well as the entire leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, I congratulate our leader and benefactor, President Bola Tinubu, on his 73rd birthday,” Sanwo-Olu stated.
He praised Tinubu’s lifelong dedication to public service, highlighting his commitment to democracy, good governance, and national development.
“President Tinubu has dedicated the greater part of his adult life to serving humanity, Lagos State, and Nigeria. He is a passionate advocate for growth and progress, always working alongside pro-democracy groups and individuals to advance Nigeria’s democratic ideals,” he added.
Sanwo-Olu described Tinubu as the “father of modern Lagos,” crediting his tenure as governor from 1999 to 2007 with transforming the state’s economic landscape.
“Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s financial acumen and economic vision laid the foundation for Lagos’ current success. His reforms have propelled Lagos to an enviable position as Africa’s second-largest economy with a GDP of $259 billion,” he noted.
The governor also commended Tinubu’s inclusive leadership, stating that he is a detribalized Nigerian who prioritizes national unity.
“In less than two years as President, Tinubu has delivered the dividends of democracy across all regions of the country through his Renewed Hope Agenda,” Sanwo-Olu said, describing him as a rare gift to humanity.
“Since assuming office, President Tinubu has shown unwavering patriotism, integrity, honesty, and courage in nation-building. He has taken bold and decisive actions to address economic challenges, steering Nigeria in the right direction.”
As Tinubu marks his 73rd birthday, Sanwo-Olu prayed for continued strength, wisdom, and good health for the President to lead the country toward greater political and economic prosperity.
