Security
operatives have apprehended several kidnappers operating in Qua’an Pan Local
Government Area of Plateau State.
Confirming
the arrests, the chairman of Qua’an Pan LGA, Christopher Manship, stated in a
press release—signed by his Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity,
Danaan Sylvanus—that a sum of N2.25 million was recovered from the suspects.
During a
high-level security meeting at Koprume Barrack, the arrested kidnappers were
paraded before authorities. Manship commended security agencies for their
professionalism in retrieving the ransom and capturing the criminals. He also
reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving regional security.
In a related
development, security operatives arrested a suspect involved in attacks on
travelers along Juku Road in Nasarawa State. The suspect admitted that their
group used AK-47 rifles for their operations.
The LGA
chairman urged security forces to intensify efforts in combating kidnappers and
robbers terrorizing the area.
