Nigerian Army Begins Recruitment for Tradesmen, Non-Tradesmen

The Nigerian Army has commenced the recruitment of tradesmen, non-tradesmen, and women for its 89th Regular Recruits Intake.

Announcing the enlistment on its official X handle on Tuesday, the Army stated that the online application process is open to all interested candidates.

“The Nigerian Army wishes to inform the general public that the online application for the 89th Regular Recruits Intake for Non-Tradesmen and Women has commenced.

“Application is free, and applicants are advised to apply only once, as multiple submissions will lead to disqualification,” the statement read.

Interested candidates can apply through http://recruitment.army.mil.ng from March 31 to May 17, 2025. Shortlisted applicants will undergo a screening exercise in their respective states of origin from June 2 to June 16, 2025.

The Army also outlined the eligibility requirements:

  • Applicants must be single Nigerian citizens by birth.

  • They must possess a National Identity Card/NIN and BVN printout.

  • They must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit according to Nigerian Army standards.

  • Applicants must have no criminal convictions.

  • A valid birth certificate issued by the National Population Commission, hospital, or local government council, or a court-certified age declaration, is required.

  • Candidates must present a valid certificate of state of origin.

  • Minimum height requirements are 1.68m for males and 1.65m for females.
