President Bola Tinubu, on Thursday, met in Paris with Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor for Africa to former U.S. President Donald Trump, to discuss enhancing economic and security cooperation between Nigeria and the United States.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the meeting focused on expanding U.S. investments in Nigeria and Africa, boosting energy and infrastructure development, and aligning trade and job creation with Nigeria’s national priorities.

The statement noted that Boulos conveyed Trump’s “strong interest in deepening direct engagement with Nigeria as a cornerstone of U.S. relations with Africa.” He emphasized America's intention to work closely with Tinubu to advance investment, infrastructure, and job opportunities.

The discussion also addressed regional peace and security, with particular attention to the ongoing conflict in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and instability across the Sahel.
