Trump’s Inauguration Raised Record $239 Million — FEC

U.S. President Donald Trump raised a record-breaking $239 million for his January 20 inauguration, according to a Federal Election Commission (FEC) filing released Sunday — more than double the $107 million raised for his first swearing-in in 2017.

The Trump Vance Inaugural Committee received contributions from numerous prominent donors, including major corporations such as Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, JP Morgan Chase, Airbnb, and McDonald’s. Each of the top donors gave at least $1 million.

Among the notable individual contributors was OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, who also donated $1 million, underscoring the strong presence of tech leaders at the event.

The $239 million haul far surpassed the average raised by recent presidents. For comparison, President Joe Biden raised about $61 million for his 2021 inauguration. The FEC noted that the $239 million total excludes more than $6 million in refunded donations.

Around a dozen billionaires attended Trump’s inauguration, with their collective net worth estimated on social media to be near $1 trillion — comparable to Switzerland’s GDP.

High-profile tech executives including Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Apple CEO Tim Cook, and Tesla CEO Elon Musk — the world’s richest man — were seen seated nearby as Trump was sworn in.
